SilverSneakers Group Fitness Classes at MSF

Mountainside Fitness is proud to announce that SilverSneakers group fitness classes are being introduced to several clubs across the Valley. These classes are exclusively for our elderly members to support them through their fitness journey. Classes will begin June 15, 2020. Here is a glimpse into the variety of SilverSneakers classes we will be providing:

SilverSneakers Classic 

Designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and improve activities for daily living. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support and class can be modified depending on fitness levels.

 

SilverSneakers BOOM Muscle

BOOM Muscle incorporates athletic-based exercises that improve upper body conditioning. You’ll move through several “blocks,” which are groups of exercises that focus on different muscle groups. The focus of this class is on toning muscles and building overall strength.

 

Silver Sneakers Circuit

The SilverSneakers Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball. A chair is available for standing support.

 

SilverSneakers: EnerChi

EnerChi consists of easy-to-learn, modified tai chi forms aimed at improving well-being. Low-impact movements are practiced in a slow, flowing sequence to progress strength, balance and focus. Chair support is offered to facilitate standing stability and seated exercise options.

 

Silver Sneakers BOOM MIND

Strength. Confidence. Flexibility. BOOM Mind takes the best from yoga and Pilates and combines them into one fusion class. Designed to relax the body and mind with peaceful music and invigorating movements. The focus of this class is on core muscles, lower body strength and balance.

 

SilverSneakers Yoga

Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level.
